Urban Design & Building Structure
A linear five- to six-story building defines the Europaplatz, with vertical recesses and terraces evoking a crown-like form. Ground floor features retail and restaurants facing the plaza under arcades. Above, office spaces open to terraces, and residential floors step back with private outdoor areas. A pergola spans across the square, creating elevated walkways and shaded zones.

Open Space & Access
The plaza is car-free and fully accessible, designed for pedestrians and cyclists. It offers diverse seating areas, informal play spaces, and a clear circulation system. Vehicle access is limited to underground garages and edge areas.

Sustainability & Climate Adaptation
Following a sponge city approach, green roofs, retention layers, and infiltration zones reduce runoff and support cooling. Pergolas provide shade and misting systems for hot days. Materials are regional, recycled, and long-lasting, supporting biodiversity and urban cooling.
