The two-story school is built into a slope, with the ground floor embedded in the terrain and the upper floor elevated to blend with the village. This reduces the building’s visual impact while maintaining strong urban integration.
Access & Layout
Students arrive via footpaths from the east and north. The gym connects in a Z-shape, and the courtyard is framed by the new and existing buildings. Spaces are compact and efficient:
Ground floor: specialist rooms, admin, library, cafeteria, and technical areas.
Upper floor: learning clusters with breakout rooms, sanitary areas, and open "marketplaces" instead of hallways.
Design & Materials
The building combines concrete (ground floor) and timber (upper floor, administration) with vertical wooden facades for warmth and privacy. Outdoor terraces and a reading patio connect learning with nature.
Landscape & Sustainability
Most trees and orchards are preserved. Climate-resilient plants and green roofs promote biodiversity, cooling, and water retention. Surfaces use recycled or regional materials. Interior spaces are bright, open, and finished with durable, natural materials.
Efficiency
The compact design minimizes energy and maintenance needs. Natural ventilation via an atrium replaces mechanical systems, ensuring sustainable, low-cost operation.
